Winter Creek Fortified Shiraz (375 mL)

This wine is a rich deep, intense purple almost black colour, and the nose is almost as dark ... intense aromas of ripe shiraz fruit, spicy blackberry, mulberry, plum, liquorice and blackcurrant fruit smells are mingled with some really intense and rich brandy spirit. The nose is a riot, first the brandy jumps out, then the fruit, then some spicy almost fennel like aromas ... The palate is just as big and delightful, shiraz fruit flavours with powerful brandy, the palate is dark, rich, intense and full flavoured. The finish is very long, with a rich, fruit tannin derived long and drying finish. You can enjoy this wine now for its rough and tumble character, the auswine panel certainly did, but it will age and build complexity over many many years. Go on, jump in!
